I like to fancy myself a free spirit. My style is quiet eclectic. I embrace an artistic style range and love to mix all genres of fashion. I strive to be an individual and express myself thru my dress. I guess you could say my look is usually Bohemian in nature with a hard edge thrown in for good measure. I am drawn to color, uniqueness, hand embroidery but balanced with leather, suede, metal.
For several years now I have worn my hair in a pixie cut of some form and in most every color imaginable. I view hair as an accessory, an expression of individuality. Not to mention, my short mane allows my earrings to shine! I have come to feel the larger and cooler the earrings the better. I recently stumbled upon a designer I have fallen in love with. I have become enamored with the fall trend of leather and suede earrings in all colors, all prints and textures with metal accents, in all shapes and sizes. And who doesn’t like having a good set of metal hoops, especially in the season’s hot new rose gold or copper? Then there is the new concept of wood and recycled materials to construct earrings.
Now about that designer I mentioned…. Amanda is the owner/designer of The Trend Shop. This fellow Texas girl runs her shop alongside her hubby, Jeremy. She is also the busy mom of 5 kids. She originally established the business on Etsy and it quickly grew, requiring expansion and a reorganization. The shop recently celebrated its one year anniversary and the release of a new website. Also they are working on a larger location with local pick up being a option!
Amanda just gets me (and she doesn’t even know that, because we have never met, lol). Her style can simply be described as uber cool. From the fauxhawk, to shaved hair sides, to the bold lip colors, then the camo and leather and suede, what can I say? Then there is her love of her children, her friends, her religion that shines through. If you couldn’t tell, I kinda have a designer crush on her.
Her designs are just easy to put on a wear. No need to over think it! It gives you free rain to play with print and color. Yes, you can wear zebra, leopard, camo with anything! Go for that larger size, live on the edge. Suede and leather earrings are offered in 3 sizes: small, medium, large. The shop also offers fringe designs, metal designs, and wood designs.
I haven’t even told you the best thing! The Trend Shop sends you a FREE pair of earrings with every order. Ever 3-4 weeks the free pair is changed. They also offer a monthly trio of designs chosen by Amanda, which can be purchased at a discounted price. The designs range in price from $18 to $28 or $60 for trio sets. The shop has also recently started designing and selling cuff bracelets….a new venture into apparel is on the horizon!
So confession time, I own 8 pairs of earrings from The Trend Shop and new amazing colors and designs are being released weekly. That fact pretty much a guarantees that my collection will most definitely grow in size.
